Holi Special Crispy Mathri is a traditional Indian savory snack made from whole wheat flour and spices. It is popular in North India, where it is often eaten as an appetizer or a light snack. Mathri is similar to crackers, but it is thicker and crunchier.

The dough is rolled out very thin and then cut into small squares or rectangles. The mathris are then fried in hot oil until they are crispy. Mathri is a great snack to have with tea or coffee. They are also popular during the Hindu festival of Holi, when they are served as part of the festive feast.

For Holi, a special version of mathri called “crispy mathri” is made. Crispy mathri is made by deep frying the dough instead of baking it.

How To Make Holi Special Crispy Mathri Recipe

Wash the Radish, peel it, grate it & keep it aside. Keep the pan on the flame, put some Water. Cover it & boil it. Then add grated Raddish, some Salt, Carom Seeds, Nigella Seeds, grated Ginger, Green Chilli, 

In a mixer jar, add some Cumin Seeds, Fennel Seeds, Black Peppers, Black Cardamom Seeds & coarsely grind them. Then add the ground Masala to the pan & mix them & cook well. After then put the gas flame slow & add Rice Flour & mix well. Turn the flame off, add nicely chopped Coriander Leaves. Mix well, cover it & keep it for 2-4 minutes & take it out in a bowl.

At Last add some Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder, Dried Mango Powder, Turmeric Powder, some more Salt & bind the dough by adding some more Rice Flour. Grease some oil on it, make dough balls, roll them & cut them into a round shape. Then fry them in the medium heated Oil until they get golden in color. Serve the Crispy Moooli Mathri/Kachoris with Sweet Chutney & Green Chutney.

Ingredients For Making Holi Special Crispy Mathri Recipe

  •   Raddish – 1 Piece/400-500 Grams
  •   Water – ½ Cup
  •   Salt  – ½ Tsp or As per taste
  •   Carom Seeds – Less than ½ Tsp
  •   Nigella Seeds – ½ Tsp
  •   White Sesame Seeds – 1 Tsp
  •   Black Pepper – 20-30 Pieces
  •   Black Cardamom – 1 Piece
  •   Grated Ginger – 1 Small Piece
  •   Green Chilli – 2-3, Finely chopped
  •   Cumin Seeds – 1 Tsp
  •   Fennel Seeds – 1 Tsp
  •   Rice Flour – 2 Bowl
  •   Coriander Leaves – 1 Bowl
  •   Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – ½ Tsp
  •   Dried Mango Powder – 1 Tsp
  •   Turmeric Powder – ¼ Tsp
  •   Oil – For Frying
