Papad is a thin, crisp, disc-shaped food from the Indian subcontinent. It is typically made from a combination of flour, water and salt. There are various types of papad, including sweet, savoury, and spicy. But, today we are going to make Besan ke papad, which is made of gram flour and is very popular in the state of Gujarat. It is usually served as an appetizer or a side dish.

How To Make Holi Special Besan Ke Papad

First of all, keep the pan for heating, put Water, Salt, Baking Soda, Asafoetida/Hing Powder, Cumin Seeds in it. Boil the water well and keep it cooling down. Then add oil and mix well. Take a big steel parat, put Gram Flour by sieving it. Add some coarsely ground Black Pepper and bind the dough with Water.

Knead it and make a tight dough. Make rolls and cut them into pieces and roll them thin and remove them with the help of thread. You can also roll the papad with the dusting of some flour on it. Keep it in the sundry for 1-2 hours. Either fry them or roast them it’s up to you. In this way, Holi Special Besan Papad will get ready easily.

  •   Gram Flour-  250 Gram
  •   Water 1/2 Cup
  •   Salt- 1/2 Tsp
  •   Baking Soda – 1/4 Tsp
  •   Asafoetida/Hing Powder – Less than 1/4 Tsp
  •   Cumin Seeds- 1/4 Tsp
  •   Black Pepper – 20-25 Pieces
  •   Oil- 2 Tsp
  •   Oil- For frying
