Holi Special Gujiya Recipe – Learn how to make Holi Special Gujiya, a popular Indian sweet dish with this easy recipe.

Holi, the festival of colors, is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate than with some delicious gujiyas? This traditional Indian sweet is made with a pastry shell filled with a sweetened stuffing of khoya (milk solids), dry fruits, and nuts.

Although there are many variations, the most popular filling is made with khoya, which can be a little time-consuming to make at home. Here is a recipe for Holi special gujiya.

How To Make Holi Special Gujiya Recipe

For Dough:

First of all, take a mixing bowl and keep strainer on it. After that put All-Purpose Flour, then sieve it and put Salt in it now put Ghee in it and mix it. Put Water in it gradually and mix it then cover it and keep it aside for half an hour.

For Filling:

Firstly, take a pan, put Ghee in it and put Cashew Nuts and Almonds in it and roast it. Take out them in the plate and take out extra Ghee also in the bowl. Put Desiccated Coconut in the pan and roast it then take out it in the plate. Now put Semolina in the same pan and roast it for 5 min on low to medium flame then take out it in the plate. Now, put Khoya/Mava in the pan without putting Ghee in it and roast it then take out it and mix the roasted Semolina in it and cover it. 

Now take the roasted Dry Fruits and crush them and then put them in the bowl. Put Raisins in the mixture then put roasted Desiccated Coconut in it and mix it. Put Sugar Powder and Cardamom Powder in it and mix it then keep it aside.

For Sugar Syrup:

Put Sugar and Water in the pan and cook it when it gets sticky then put Kevada Essence in it then turn off the flame. 

For Gujiya:

Take the Dough and cut it now roll it then put the filling in it and give it shape and keep it aside Now make all the Gujiya in this way and keep Oil for heating then put the Gujiya and fry it. Put some fried Gujiya in the Sugar Syrup and keep some Gujiya dry. Garnish the Gujiya with Pistachios. Gujiya is ready now Serve it and Enjoy it.

Ingredients For Making Holi Special Gujiya Recipe

For Dough:

  • All-Purpose Flour – 2 cup/300 gram
  • Salt – 1 pinch 
  • Ghee – 100 gram
  • Water 

For Filling:

  • Khoya/Mava – 1 cup/200 gram
  • Semolina – 1/2 cup
  • Cashew Nuts 
  • Almonds 
  • Raisins 
  • Desiccated Coconut) – 1 cup
  • Sugar Powder – 1 cup
  • Cardamom Powder – 1 tbsp

For Sugar Syrup:

  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Water 
  • Kevada Essence – some drops

For Garnishing:

Pistachios

Directions For Making Holi Special Gujiya Recipe

  8. Put Sugar Powder and Cardamom Powder in it and mix it then keep it aside.

For Sugar Syrup:

  1. Put Sugar and Water in the pan and cook it when it gets sticky then put Kevada Essence in it then turn off the flame. 

For Gujiya:

  1. Take the Dough and cut it now roll it then put the filling in it and give it shape and keep it aside Now make all the Gujiya in this way and keep Oil for heating then put the Gujiya and fry it. 
  2. Put some fried Gujiya in the Sugar Syrup and keep some Gujiya dry.
  3. Garnish the Gujiya with Pistachios. Gujiya is ready now Serve it and Enjoy it.
